Coastal City Briefing

Editorial policy

Coastal City Briefing aims to publish clear, fair and useful explanations of coastal city life. We distinguish established information from interpretation, make uncertainty visible and correct material errors when they are brought to our attention.

Accuracy and sourcing

We check factual claims against suitable source material and seek clarity about context, dates and place. Articles should not imply that a pattern applies everywhere when it depends on local conditions. Where a claim cannot be established confidently, we qualify it or leave it out.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for reader value and relevance to the publication’s subject. A partnership does not buy a favourable account, and commercial involvement does not determine an article’s conclusions.

Corrections

Readers can send a correction through the Contact page. We review the detail and, when a published error is confirmed, amend the article and make the correction clear in context.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid, contributed or otherwise partner-supported material is labelled so readers can recognise its nature. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where that is the case, the illustration is identified accordingly.
